PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Yesterday, Governor Rick Scott signed the Military Housing Tax Exemption Bill into law. Representative Jay Trumbull is the bill's sponsor.

"I would like to thank Governor Scott for signing this important piece of legislation," said Trumbull. "This bill clarifies that leaseholds and improvements constructed and used to provide housing pursuant to the Military Housing Initiative (which specifically allows private financing for military housing projects) on land owned by the federal government are exempt from ad valorem taxation."

"I want to thank Representative Trumbull for all his work on this bill," said State Representative Jimmie Smith (R-Inverness), also a sponsor of the bill. "Florida is constantly working to support our veterans and our military men and women currently serving. HB 361 will help ensure that Florida is the best state for our military bases and continue to make us the most military-friendly state in the nation."

Trumbull added, "At a time when Florida is spending significant money to maintain a military presence in Florida, actions such as taxing military housing send a terrible message."

E-mail: brett@flstrategies.com

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) endorsed Jay Trumbull for State Representative. This is the second major business organization to endorse Trumbull in just two weeks.

In a press release, Bill Herrle, NFIB's Florida executive director said: "Jay's priorities align with those of the small business community, and he has demonstrated that he genuinely understands the challenges that small business owners in Florida are facing. Jay’s experience operating his family business makes him an ideal candidate to represent our members’ interests in the Florida House, and we look forward to working with him to ensure Florida maintains its pro-small business climate.”

The endorsement comes from the NFIB/Florida SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Florida’s membership, and is based on candidates’ positions regarding key small-business issues including healthcare, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

“NFIB is one of the best advocates for small businesses in the country, and their endorsement is a signal that our agenda for economic growth is the right one,” said Jay Trumbull. “Our campaign will continue to stress the need to reduce the regulatory burden, reduce lawsuit abuse, and stand up to the overreach of the federal government."

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The Florida Chamber of Commerce released it's endorsements today for the upcoming state legislative elections. In the race for House District 6, they designated Jay Trumbull as their Pro-Jobs candidate and endorsed his candidacy for office. The Florida Chamber of Commerce believes that Jay Trumbull's commitment to free market principles and small business growth make him the best candidate for job creation in the race for District 6.

"I am honored by the support of one of Florida's premier advocates for less taxes, less regulation, and more jobs," said Jay Trumbull. "We will keep working hard to take our message of how best to lead an economic recovery to every precinct in this district.”

Jay Trumbull has been outspoken about his intent to focus his efforts on job growth once he is elected to the state legislature. He is a staunch supporter of free market economics and believes that cutting taxes and fees will allow businesses to keep more of their own money and thus make it easier for them to reinvest in the economy. Jay Trumbull is one of the only small businessmen in this race.

NRA GIVES JAY TRUMBULL AN 'A' RATING

Phone: 850-222-8156
E-mail: brett@flstrategies.com

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The Jay Trumbull for State Representative Campaign announced today that Jay Trumbull has received an 'A' rating from the National Rifle Association. The National Rifle Association, also known as the NRA, is the largest gun rights advocacy group in the United States. Their evaluation of Jay Trumbull included a face-to-face interview and a rigorous questionnaire that asked his stances on a wide ranging number of gun-owner rights issues.

The Unified Sportsmen of Florida also evaluated Jay Trumbull's stances on gun rights and similarly gave him a "Pro-Gun" designation.

“I'm honored to receive these designations from the NRA and the Unified Sportsmen of Florida,” said candidate Jay Trumbull. “I have always been a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and as a State Representative, I will continue to defend the right for Floridians to keep and bear arms."

Jay Trumbull's views on the 2nd Amendment have also won him the support of longtime State Representative Dennis Baxley, whose name is synonymous with the passage of the Castle Doctrine and the Stand Your Ground law. With a Trumbull victory in November, Floridians could have another gun rights ally on the House floor very soon.

JAY TRUMBULL COMMANDS HUGE FUNDRAISING LEAD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Brett Doster
Phone: 850-222-8156
E-mail: brett@flstrategies.com

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — After another strong fundraising month in which he outraised all of his opponents combined, Jay Trumbull is now the clear finance leader in the campaign to elect Bay County’s next State Representative. Current State Representative Jimmy Patronis is term-limited and is not seeking re-election.

Trumbull said, “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support for our campaign, but we are leaving nothing to chance. We are working hard meeting people, securing endorsements, and advocating for our conservative agenda. I’m proud of our team, and I am blessed by an extremely supportive wife, an intense fundraising team, and more volunteers than I can count. We are committed to winning this race.”

Trumbull’s fundraising announcement comes on the heels of a very successful fundraiser in Tallahassee just last week that was co-hosted by State Representative Dennis Baxley, State Representative Matt Gaetz, State Representative Clay Ingram, and State Representative Halsey Beshears.

Trumbull has made advocating for a better business environment and a better education system to be the key pillars of his campaign. His experience as the only small businessman in the race has given him a unique perspective on how to expand Bay County and Northwest Florida’s economy.

“I have so much admiration for former Speaker Allan Bense and current State Representative Jimmy Patronis,” said candidate Jay Trumbull. “They are businessmen who have done everything in their power to give small businesses the opportunity to succeed without government interference, and I’m committed to the same agenda.”

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Last week, local businessman Jay Trumbull filed his paperwork to be a candidate for State Representative in House District 6. Trumbull, born and raised in Panama City, started a career working for his grandfather and father in the family water conditioning business when he was 14 years old. He now assists in managing the Culligan dealerships.

“Both Speaker Allan Bense and Rep. Jimmy Patronis have big shoes to fill, but I’m excited to launch this campaign to represent the people of Bay County,” said candidate Jay Trumbull. “It’s no secret that families are hurting and are discouraged. In many instances, the ability to become successful is hindered by big government which has grown out of control. This is unacceptable. I’m running for State Representative because I want Florida and Bay County to be a place of economic opportunity for everyone.”

The Trumbull family has been in the water bottling and conditioning business for over 4 generations. They own several dealerships in the Panhandle, Alabama, and South Georgia. Shortly after college, Trumbull joined with his father in the family business starting out with a delivery route and then working his way into a senior position in the company.

"Jay Trumbull is one of the hardest-working young men I know," said former Bay County Clerk of Court Harold Bazzel. "He's conservative, smart, and knows what it means to be a public servant. He will make a great State Representative for Bay County."

Trumbull graduated from Bay High School and Auburn University. He married his high school sweetheart, Brittany Fishel, and they are members of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City. They are both active in the community.

District 6 contains the southern portion of Bay County and includes Panama City, Panama City Beach, Callaway, Lynn Haven, and Tyndall Air Force Base. Incumbent Representative Jimmy Patronis is term limited and cannot run for re-election.
